Lana Douglas has been a new product developer for over twenty-five years. She was vice-president of sales and marketing for Lyrick Studios (now HIT! Entertainment), the creators of Barney® and Wishbone®.
She is founder and president of Genesis Research & Consulting, LTD, a consulting company that focuses on the ideation, marketing, and marketing research needs of new or repositioned products and companies.
Ms. Douglas has conducted facilitation sessions associated with new product development, internal reorganization and conflict between personnel. She specializes in Synectics©, a process specifically developed to handle facilitation and problem-solving sessions within the corporate environment.
Her clients are primarily Fortune 100 companies in a variety of industries, including restaurant/hospitality, medical, professional organizations, banking, high tech, consumer packaged goods, entertainment, retail, oil and gas, printing/publishing, utilities and telecommunications.
Ms. Douglas has a Master of Science in clinical psychology from the University of Wisconsin and completed MBA coursework at the University of Chicago. She has certificates in facilitation from the Synectics Institute, in Cambridge, Massachusetts; and earned her certificate in mediation from Southern Methodist University.
In addition to her consulting work, she is a frequent lecturer on marketing research and new product development at universities and at seminars. She has conducted workshops on setting up a dispute resolution practice and serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations. She was previously the chairman of the Ford Motor Company Dispute Settlement Board for Texas and Oklahoma.
